Catalpa Indian Faces
Catalpa is one of my favorite woods for carving. Catalpa, like the cedar on the previous page, is native to the Ozarks. The natural grain in catalpa makes it, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful of all woods used for carving. Each Indian face is carved to depict the facial anatomy, hairstyle, and /or headdress of a certain region or tribe of Native Americans in an authentic manner. If you have a particular type of Indian in mind, let me know at the time of order. I have and continue to research the Native American culture in order to bring more and more authenticity to my carving, so I probably have a picture or drawing on file to match the type of Indian face you desire. These faces come pre-drilled for hanging. Each one is hand-carved, lightly sanded, and given 3 coats of high quality gloss laquer for a beautiful durable finish requiring little if any maintenance.
