About The 10 Inch Cheyenne Bust
This carving is my representation of a Cheyenne Indian. The Cheyenne occuppied a vast area of the Plains, from the Yellowstone to the Platte rivers. They were allied with the Sioux to the north and the Arapaho to the south. About 1835 they split into two bands, the Northern Cheyenne and the Southern Cheyenne. A large contingent of Cheyenne were with the Sioux at the battle of the Little Bighorn.
