These Indian faces are examples of the literally hundreds I have carved in
my career as a professional woodcarver. I am probably best known for these
Indian face woodcarvings.
Each Indian face is carved to authentically depict characteristics of a
certain tribe. I also try to depict these Indian faces with a dignity that
these noble peoples deserve.
My Indian faces are carved in logs that have been split on a bandsaw, which
allows them to be displayed on either a wall or shelf. Each Indian face
comes pre-drilled in the back for easy display.
Most of the time these Indian faces are finished with a natural clear
finish, though occasionally I will apply a light stain or oil paint to
highlight the features a little before applying the clear finish.
